Before you get too confused let me say that G. Vera Ryder is, in fact, my pen name, though the “G” stands for my real name, Gen, though truth be told that isn’t my *real* name. Complicated, I know. It’s amusing to me that after years of striving for anonymity on the interwebs that I have chosen a career that requires me, the real me, to be searchable, findable, and even Googleable (not a real word, I know, but “selfie” was the 2013 word of the year after all). I have high hopes that some day, preferably sooner rather than later, I will be a known writer.
Until then just know I’m trying to give my life some structure while I search for a new job and continue working on my novel. It isn’t the “next great American novel,” and it may never even get published, but its the book in my head. Its the story that needs to be told, and I’m telling it. And while I work on that and all that comes with it, here is more of my work – thoughts, opinions, writings, and writerly woes.
